Yes yes ladies and gents, I am in a state of shock that I have just come out of a period of frantic revision and exams and actually am in awe of the amount of free time I have now, until that dreadful date whereby I have to go back for my last year of 6th form, before I jet of to this scary place called “university”. By the way, I hope you’ve managed to work out by now why I haven’t blogged in 14 days. In other good news, I also have a UCAS card now, I’m important, apparently.
So the question which remains is…
What to do with all this free time?
I do have some projects going, and some general around the house duties which I have been promising my self to do for ages, but nothing big! Nothing juicy to get stuck into, to keep me from losing my sanity while for the first time in I think 7 months where I have been terribly busy, to having absolutely nothing to do.
I know, your thinking, he’s only 17, why is he even USING the word nostalgia? But hey, I don’t know what to call what happened to me other than that!
Basically, 2 days ago I woke up and put TMF on TV. Music gets me going in the morning, so I thought it wouldn’t be such a bad thing to wake up to. So I turned it on and I saw that they were playing the new Kelly Rowland single with the guy from Gym Class Hero’s (who style I adore). That was fine, next song that came up was this:
(Excuse the sucky intro on it, the only video I could find on The Tubes which would embed it self…)
And it was the weirdest feeling of, “OH MY GOD!!! I KNOW THIS!!! I USED TO LOVE THIS SONG!!!”
And seeing it was released just before the Millennium (Just another thing which I have lived to see!), I remember it even better! It used to be the song which everyone listened to and such. It was great hearing it again!
So yeah, there you have it
A little bit of nostalgia to get you going!
Anyone got any thing which really jogs their memory?
“Bournemouth, UK, is often mocked by many of the British for the average age of its citizens. In short, a seaside resort where many go to die. Jack Dee once quipped that the shop windows are all fitted with bi-focals to allow passers-by to ascertain what lies within.”
Just read a very interesting and insightful story about what might be the real definition behind the web buzzword “Web 2.0”. The writer of the story also goes further to explain and predict what “Web 3.0” will be like and also what “Web 1.0” was. Please read the story carefully and pass it on to all your dumb buddies, so we can finally stop people from labelling everything on the internet as Web 2.0. Help stop the madness!
I just wanted to take a moment to point out to any one who has an interest in the electronic music scene (anything from House, Dance, Trance, Electro, Electronica, D’n'B and so on…) an excellent way to find new fresh and exciting tracks which are hot off the press.
I’ve been using it for a while and this weeks show was THAT good that I decided to plug it a little on my blog. The man behind it is called fabulous DJ (and also my favourite) called Pete Tong and it’s his weekly TV show, called Pete Tong’s Fast Tracks. Every weeks he features some excellent music and I think it’s a great way to get introduced to new music.
“Earlier today we posted a screenshot on our dedicated iPhone blog (RSS) that claimed to depict a new On/Off option to enable 3G speeds. This new preference was found in the latest iPhone 2.0 Beta 5 distributed to developers. By default, the preference is hidden, but one developer (Chronic Productions) claims to have activated it”.
